UI DESIGNER FOR A MOBILE FIRST GAME IN DEVELOPMENT

We are currently looking for a talented and passionate Mobile Game UI Designer to join our creative team and help define and design the look and feel of our next game which is already in early development.
Role Summary
The Mobile Game UI Designer will be responsible for creating intuitive, engaging, and visually polished user interfaces for our new mobile first (although eventually multiplatform/crossplatform) game. This role involves working closely with a team of experienced game designers, artists, and engineers to translate game features and functional requirements into exceptional user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design user interface elements, including menus, HUDs, icons, buttons, and other in-game components.
- Develop wireframes, flowcharts, storyboards, and prototypes to communicate design ideas and user flow.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure the UI visual style aligns with the overall game aesthetic.
- Work with the engineering team to ensure technical feasibility and optimal implementation of the UI designs.
- Take part in user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve the usability and overall player experience.
- Maintain and document UI guidelines, specifications, and style guides.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in mobile gaming, UI/UX design, and technology.
Qualifications
Required
- Proven experience as a UI Designer, preferably in a mobile Free-to-Play environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional UI design skills, including examples of mobile game interfaces.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma).
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, mobile usability, and responsive design.
- Understanding of 2D graphic design principles, typography, layout and color theory.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience with animation or motion graphics for UI elements.
- Knowledge of game engine tools and pipelines (e.g., Unreal Engine widget system for implementation of designs).
- Familiarity with visual scripting or basic programming for rapid prototyping.
